• Eureka Group includes Eureka Trading Private Limited (a registered company based at Coimbatore, TN South India) and it is over twenty years old. It is traditionally a finance (Investments and chit funds) based company, which diversified over the years into real estate, resorts and restaurants, agro-forestry, vanilla projects, financing small scale industries in agriculture (tissue culture and floriculture), textile industry, garment export projects etc and has also added trading activities in share trading (member of NSE, through Fortune Wealth Management) and imported flower bulbs (Indian Distributor for VWS-Flowerbulbs, Holland).
  • Eureka owns agricultural and horticultural  lands in Kotagiri, The Nilgiris,Coimbatore and Sri Perum Pudur(Tamil  Nadu,India). In Kotagiri, it has both lily cultivation and contract farming (leased land or farmers’ own lands), with greenhouses, where the bulbs imported from VWS-Flowerbulbs,Holland are cultivated for the production of lily (Lilium) cutflowers. The bulbs are also traded (exchanged) with other growers for improving colour and varietal range.
  • In addition, Eureka’s technical personnel visit the fields of growers who grow VWS Flower bulbs, to advise on selection of the right varieties and to grow good quality lilium cutflowers. Technical growing tips are also supplied from both VWS andEureka to all the growers who use VWS Flowerbulbs to grow lilies.
  • VWS representative (Mr.John Braas) also visits Indian growers, along withEureka personnel, at least four times an year, to give field support.Eureka facilitates direct import of lily bulbs by container loads, by able and large growers who have the financial background and cold store facility and the field visits are extended to them by way of after sales service.
  • Eureka also consolidates the requirements of various growers, who are small and marginal (who cannot import a full container on their own or who do not have their own cold store), imports, selectively supplies VWS Flowerbulbs (on contract farming basis) and provides field support / marketing tie-up. This consolidation includes growers in different areas of India, including Tamil Nadu and Kerala (South), Maharashtra (West),Jammu and Kashmir (North) and via Kolkata to North Eastern India.
  • In addition to technical support, Eureka also provides growers of VWS Flowerbulbs, with market information, as well as help in marketing their flowers, inIndia and abroad.
  • Eureka-VWS Flowerbulbs put up stalls in exhibitions like Flora (New Delhi) and Florex (Pune) to reach the growers, with latest technical and varietal information.
  • 2008-09 is the 4th year of association for Eureka with VWS Flower bulbs and eleventh year of association for Eureka’s President-Agro Division, Dr. K.Valliappan (www.123indiaflowers.com/kvbio.doc) with VWS Flower Bulbs,Holland.
